The Canadian trucking industry has resumed shipments through the U.S. as of May 27, after over 11 years.
The resumption of shipments will begin with a 6-month pilot program for nine carriers.
The success of the program will determine if the program is expected to resume on a permanent basis.
The program itself began when a truck crossed into the U.S. at Port Huron, Michigan and will pave the way for widespread efficiency for the trucking industry.
