Spot truckload freight rates and volumes haven’t improved over the last two weeks. Load-to-truck ratios increased and diesel prices have risen as well. Spot rates are expected to pick up as a result.
Spot market load posts fell 4%, while the van ratio gained 1% to 1.7 loads per truck, and the flatbed ratio was up 5% to 15.4 to 1.
The national average van rate fell to $1.53 per mile, and the reefer rate declined by the same amount to $1.87 per mile.
